Teen Coordinator

SARAH BARTH

Hey everyone! My name is Sarah Barth and I’m a recent graduate from UMass Amherst with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Education. Over the years I’ve directed summer camps, led youth programs, and created positive spaces both in person and online, always with the goal of helping teens feel supported, inspired, and excited to be themselves.
I’ve been lucky to work with Beverly Recreation, SRSD Online, and Team Positive Presence, experiences that taught me the power of connection, creativity, and really listening to others.
What excites me most now is making the McPherson Teen Center a true community hub. I want it to be a safe, fun, and welcoming place where all teens can hang out, try new things, and build lasting friendships.

Meet the McPherson Youth Center Program Staff

  • Christian Harrington

    Teen Program Staff

My name is Chris Harrington and I’ve been employed by the YMCA of the Northshore for over 25 years in a variety of roles and responsibilities along with my career in the Telecommunications Industry. I have enjoyed raising my 4 teenagers on the Northshore with my wife Claudia and we have been very active in the Y Community.

I’ve had the opportunity to work at the Myles McPherson Youth Center for the past 3 years and have enjoyed working, playing ping pong, video games and basketball with the kids and being a passionate advocate for youth development

  • Oscar Mendoza

    Teen Program Staff

Hi! I’m Oscar Melodina, and I proudly serve as Teen Program Staff at the Greater Beverly YMCA’s McPherson Youth Center.

By day, I’m a full-time student at Salem State University, currently in my sophomore year, where I’m majoring in Criminal Justice. My studies fuel my passion for equity, advocacy, and helping others find positive pathways—especially youth.

Working at the McPherson Youth Center is more than just a job for me—it’s where I get to be part of something bigger. I have the unique opportunity to connect with local teens and help them discover their voice, their power, and their ability to become true Change Makers in their communities.

Every day, I get to build relationships, create impactful experiences, and witness firsthand the growth and transformation of the next generation. That’s what makes this work so meaningful.
